(+44) (pronounced "plus forty four") are an alternative rock band from blink-182 members Mark Hoppus (bass and vocals) and Travis Barker (drums and keyboards). The band also has former Transplants touring guitarist Craig Fairbaugh and the lead guitarist of The Nervous Return; Shane Gallagher. Their debut album Little Death is set to be released on October 24, 2006.

History
The band started when Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, former band blink-182 broke up in February 2005. The name (+44) is a reference to the international dialing code for the United Kingdom, where Hoppus and Barker first discussed the new project. By September 2005 the band had recorded 16 new songs and they have recently finished recording. At first the band were expected to release their debut album in the autumn of 2005, but it was postponed due to Travis busy schedule with the Transplants (who broke up at the end of the Warped Tour), and Mark working with his podcast and producing albums for other underground bands such as We Are the Fury and Something for Rockets.

In the April edition of the Alternative Press magazine Mark revealed that the group will release their debut album on Interscope Records.

When Mark was asked about the development on (+44)s sound in an interview on November 14, 2005 he stated "Well the sound of (+44) is still developing right now. Right now to me it sounds like punk rock meets 80s synth rock, meets...all different kind of influences are in there. I mean, there are songs where it's like a hip hop beat with electric guitar over it or like a really trance-y beat with keyboards on top of that, and some are just straight forward rock songs. We have like three or four songs now that are pretty much done and a lot more songs that are just ideas and even more to write. So we're really just getting started on the recording process and we'll see what ends up like at the end. Right now it's really diverse, really all over the place and schizophrenic, which is a good thing."

When Mark was asked if there were keyboards in (+44) in March 2006 when he and Motion City Soundtrack were being hosted by Fuse, he answered "Yeah, there's a lot of keyboard stuff in (+44). There's a lot of electronic elements, and everything from keyboards, to samples, to Travis recording a lot of the drums on v-drums, electronic drums. But it's still very guitar based and very rock at the same time."

On July 14th, 2006, the first offical show for (+44) was confirmed as Bamboozle Left by MTV.com. This concert will take place in Pomona, California on October 14-15 of this year.

On July 21st, 2006, MTV.com posted the first real interview with Mark and Travis concerning (+44). The interview confirmed many things including Carol Hellers rumored departure, their real thoughts on former bandmate Tom Delonge, and the official title of their upcoming album, "Little Death." The interview also stated that, with the purchase of a recording studio, the band moved away from the "electronic" sound that was first mentioned when the band formed.

And Carol Heller leave the band not long after the 1st single released.

No It Isnt lyrics

Please understand.
This isnt just goodbye.
This is I cant stand you.
This is where the road crashed into the ocean,
It rises all around me and now we are barely breathing.
A thousand faces will choose to ignore.

Curse my enemies forever.
Lets slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful.
This desperation leaves me overjoyed.
With fading lights that lead us past the lives that we destroy.

I listen to you cry.
I cry for less attention.
But both my hands are tied.
And Im pushed into the deep end.

I listen to you talk.
But talk is cheap.
And my mouth is filled with blood.
From trying not to speak.

So search for an excuse.
And someone to believe you.
In foreign dressing rooms
Im empty with the need to.

Curse my enemies forever.
Lets slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful.
This desperation leaves me overjoyed.
With fading lights that lead us past the lives that we destroy.

Curse my enemies forever.
Lets slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful.
This desperation is leaving me overjoyed.
With fading lights that lead us past the lives that we destroy.

Please understand.
This isnt just goodbye.
This is I cant stand you.
